sorry,, they would invest in high paying dividend stocks... most likely held them for twenty thirty years... low income will pay 5% vs the 15% but could have gone to zero... also most elderly are also in treasury bills or money market and we know there is nothing coming out of them. How else do you expect elderly get income if they do not have what small amount of savings in some type of income producing certificates...
