Yes, that's the story but would you be prepared to undertake to build a factory in the knowledge that, any time the currency speculators choose, conditions could change and the USD could be strong again.

Or, you could buy a bankrupt plant in Germany, ship it to the US and then, when the Euro is weak again, ship it right back to Germany.

Or maybe, put the factory on a ship and move the ship to wherever the currency is weak. That way you could move around the world at a moment's notice.

I suppose to work in the factory you can import some Chinese at slave wages or maybe Mexicans. You couldn't employ Americans because your wage bill would be too high.

I'm sure it's easier to gamble on the gold price than to do all that.
