I'm not familiar with exactly how the Japanese behaved in the aftermath of WWII. But I know how they behaved in China.

Certainly.. Just as the German were ruthless against the Russians (and vice versa), or how various powers throughout have shown similar brutality..

It's the Stanley Milgram scenario of "obedience to authority", as well as just basic racist beliefs of superiority and human greed that exist in many cultures.

Essentially, I think we have been too dependent on the mistaken belief that we'd be overwhelmingly welcomed as liberators and that the various factions would fall in line behind the US forces... Some factions obviously did, and do, welcome us as such.. But others were obviously not going to..

So for the US to ONLY NOW demand that Iraqis turn in their weapons is RIDICULOUS... This should have been an integral part of the original war plan..

I would be curious to know if there is any kind of reporting that has been done on the kind of broadcasts which the US and Commando Solo have broadcasted in Iraq since the end of the war?
