LOL... still hung up on handsets? And mistaking the past for the future?

I have not claimed "all problems solved". Maybe get your tenses right and stop trying to put words in my mouth.

And I don't have to show you "an OFDM/VoIP handset that outperforms a 1X phone or GSM phone on battery life, handset cost and coverage" as long as I'm not discussing VoIP handsets as being an immediate threat to wide-area cellphones.

However, what you characterize as consumer apathy for wireless data is very little enthusiasm for wireless data delivered to a handset. Which, in case you haven't figured it out yet, affects the gold-rush towards 3G.

And since the gold-rush towards 3G is the primary assumption underpinning rosy projections of Qualcomm's future earnings... we are at least aligned on one facet of the story.

Anybody who thinks that the network of today represents the network of the future should take their cash out of the market right now while they still have a chance of holding onto it.

When it comes to investing, it is more prudent to ask what about tomorrow than to issue "show me" challenges today.
