It has been a few years since going to reading.. There are two locations in Reading for outlets... One has designer shops (new 10 years old) and then the old mills (several three/four story buildings) rebuilt inside to small stores.. The problem with Reading is getting to it, parking, stairs and old elevators.

Now Lancaster has all of what reading has for stores and no stairs. Out is the country it is a beautiful drive back in time to farmland unlike any other in the country.. The Amish in their horse drawn wagons, farm equipment with five large mule teams pulling the plows etc... Just a fabulous site. Some farms are open for sit down family style dinners, also many of the quilts (homemade) on sale in their house, barns, or basements. If you are looking for a place to visit, see country, take tours, and shop... this is the place.. Also no sales tax on clothing. Gasoline out there is cheaper as little pollution, eliminate the requirement for the additional additives used in the city and surrounding counties.
I do not recommend a weekend visit..g
for more try to find lancaster county , pa on web.
