I see you can't think of any reason why France would benefit from Monacan quasi-independence either.

You are wasting my time. Look up the money France receives from Monaco.

The correct word is "Monegasque", by the way, not "Monacan". I realize some English sources (the more ignorant ones) state it as "Monacan" but they would be laughed at if they ever said it in Monaco.

what the heck are all those French doing there?

The only French who live in Monaco are those with other citizenships (and hence can benefit from tax haven status) or the very dumb (who would pay the high rent/price rather than live in the next street that is France territory).

So during polls, they can give their nationality as "French", but you can be sure they are using other nationalities for all intents and purposes.

Here - (iii) The 1963 Tax Treaty between Monaco and France prevents French nationals from enjoying any of the indigenous fiscal benefits.

I guess you got from context here that there are no visible boundaries between France and Monaco. So French live across the street, where the rents are about 1/5th of Monaco's.

That's okay, America hasn't accepted the ICJ either, I think. Of course, this makes Monaco an outlaw state like us, you realize. <g>

You are talking about International Criminal Court, which Bush recently undermined, I guess. That is ICC. This is ICJ. There are quite a few countries who have not accepted ICJ's jurisdiction.

Your ignorance is quite impressive. I hope it is not painful as well.

Tax haven! Hey, that sounds exactly like what I was getting at.

Oh really? Just WHERE were you "getting at" that??? By your mention of "maybe some tax angles"???

You think you are teaching me something here, Mister North American couch potato? Do you think I DON'T know Monaco is a tax haven??? Do you think I have not noticed that I have not been paying ANY taxes since I moved here?

Hope I helped him out some by playing the heavy so he could play the sensitive broadminded good guy.

Once more, you don't know what you are talking about, of course. Even some of your fellow Americans are ashamed of your ignorance and arrogance, and you think it is a game.

Unfortunately I don't get anything out of this.

You did, actually. You got to show everybody your rock-bottom ignorance and incredibly shallow personality that is incapable even of shame - shame that of the remarks of a fellow American on your comment, shame that you are so ignorant about other parts of the world, shame that you keep talking about (rather aggressively, in fact) on subjects you know nothing about.
