I think she's perfectly reasonable.

This wasn't done in a professional or forthcoming manner.

While it may or may not be required by law, any change in ownership by a business should be communicated to it's customers.

People choose to to business in a particular place based a numerous factors - price, service, etc. One of those factors is the ownership - it's reputation, experience, financial backing, etc.

To not communicate that ownership has changed is dishonest.
