Sanyo to shift flat-panel display production

According to the report, Sanyo's current LCD production is done at a subsidiary in Tottori Prefecture; one line has production capacity of 380,000 13.3-inch LCD panels per month or equivalent and a second has capacity of 160,000 15-inch.

Sanyo Electric, a front-runner in the development of OEL displays, will replace the 13.3-inch LCD panel manufacturing line with one for circuit boards for OEL display panels with production of OEL display panels in sight, the official said. Sanyo Electric now makes OEL display panels at a Japanese joint venture with Eastman Kodak Co.
