From the looks of this, Wind River has cut an I2O deal with Digital like the earlier one with IBM. I've been waiting for this since last fall when Michael Greene first mentioned there might be several such deals in the works. It is good news. "ALAMEDA, Calif., Aug. 4 /PRNewswire/ -- Wind River Systems, Inc. (Nasdaq:WIND) and Digital Equipment Corporation (NYSE:DEC) today announced that Wind River will support Digital's I/O platforms -- the SA-110 processor and 21285 core logic chipset. A license for Wind River's IxWorks(TM) I2O(R) real-time operating system (IRTOS) and a 30-day evaluation of its Tornado(TM) for I2O development environment will ship with Digital's family of I2O-based products. This new agreement will expand the availability of the basic building blocks for developing I2O-ready servers and adapter cards."
