If lying under oath is such a laudable character quality

That might fly on a right-wing maniac thread, but not here. Obviously, the people did not say they liked Clinton BECAUSE he lied under oath. More likely, they liked him DESPITE it, and they considered the whole affair a minor event because it was a private personal matter which had no bearing on his job.

Something much more significant is Elliott Abrams lying about the massacre of tens of thousands of innocent people, or his lying under oath about the similarly murderous Nicaraguan Contras.
