(Nasdaq: APII - News), a leading specialty toy manufacturer emphasizing educational and non-violent branded toys for children in preschool through primary grades, announced today that based on the orders in house, the company expects to be profitable in its 2nd fiscal quarter ending June 30. "We continue to have an accelerating sales rate across all our lines especially with Jay-Jay as well as our company successfully opening up new accounts and new areas of distribution," said Ronald Kaplan CEO.

Last year the company lost $379,000 in the second quarter. The expected gains are due to increasing sales and reduced expenses. The company has a heavy emphasis on brand selling as well as providing quality products, timely deliveries, outstanding service and order fill rates.

"We are actively looking to acquire more brands and other toy manufacturers. Such successful action would have a dramatic positive impact on our operations. Our expanding areas of distribution and increased marketing effort gives us the ability to take on more product lines. We are well on target to increase sales by at least 20% this year and this should be evident by our 2nd quarter results," stated Mr. Kaplan.
