I must have accumulated some good karma lately. I had been fostering a rescue cat--mentioned it on the House thread--and a woman came by to see it. Nice young woman, just finishing up at seminary and scheduled to have a nice parsonage out in the boonies. She will be taking the cat when the parsonage is ready. Meanwhile, I get to enjoy it for a while. Anyway, as it turned out, the woman's aunt and uncle had lost their home over the previous weekend to a fire. They and their pets escaped with only their lives. When she came by, I had clothes piled up all over the living room. I was packaging them up for the Salvation Army. One thing lead to another and it turned out that my discards were just her aunt's size, so we lugged enough clothing out to her car to keep her aunt clothed for the rest of her life.
The very next day, I found in a closet something that I had been looking for for a year--my favorite exercise music--Tina Turner's Simply the Best. I had looked and looked and looked. I couldn't just replace it because it's hard to find casettes these days. I work out in the pool with my casette player in a waterproof pouch designed for just that. The pouch is not big enough for a CD player. Alas, I had been relegated to exercising without Tina. But now I have her back.
