When you are comparing someone to Hitler what is important is what made Hitler different then most people. What made Hitler different then most people was his enormous hatred and ambition.

Yes, and do you think he stood up in front of the people and told then he hates everyone big time. Of course not! That is no way of determining if someone is a Hitler in the early.......only is hindsight clear visioned.

What made him different then almost all people is his role in the death camps and WWII.

Again, we know this in hindsight. The trick is to get them before they get to this stage.

Serial killers typically don't start out as serial killers.......they work their way up to it......first they harm or kill insects, then they harm animals, then they mutilate and kill them, eventually they get to humans. This metamorphosis usually takes ten or more years.

Few on the right, and none with real power or influence today have displayed that type of hatred and ambition. No one on the American right have ever been part of anything like the death camps.

That may be true although some could argue that people like Rumsfeld have consorted with people like Saddam. But even if what you say is completely true, history is not always an adequate precursor for the future.

That's why I think it behooves us to pay attention to what the people in power are doing and who is behind them.
