Get a grip. Vietnam was a unified country for 2,000 years until a minor treaty divided the country in half in 1954. United country? Try empire... Neither N. or S. Vietnam, as a country, existed prior to the partition.. And the empire that did exist, did not conquer the south (mekong region) until some 200-300 years ago.... askasia.org And Vietnam currently consists of some 54 different nationalities.
