Smartphone technology evolution

Jane,

<< am waiting for and contemplating between the Samsung SPH-i500 (PalmOS) and the Samsung i700 (Windows). >>

SPH-i500 looks pretty good and coming right behind it is the Samsung SGH-i500 with integrated camera which uses Palm OS 5.

<< I looked at the Kyocera but figured i would have to switch to Verizon plus its a brick in size. >>

I suspect that the 7135 will be offered on PCS. They added the 6035 about 3 months after Verizon offered it. I'm used to bricks. The 6035 be one, but I'm not into dainty. I suspect I'll have some trouble adjusting to a clamshell design. I like the front flip on the 6035.

<< as soon as I buy a new pda/phone I will be wanting the next technology >>

Oh yeah. We all go through that. I look at a handset or smartphone as an investment to be amortized over 18 months. I squeezed 27 months out of the 6035, but only because the 7135 took longer than anticipated to qualify on Verizon.

There will be a radical change in technology and integration level in smartphones over the next 12 to 18 months.

Let us know what you decide on.

Best,

- Eric -
