Its not Qs fault it is just that Q is a short/hedgie favourite.

Never let the facts get in the way of a good story....

Short interest has declined in Qualcomm both on an absolute level and a relative level (days to cover).

From a days to cover perspective, it is in-line with all of the other Nasdaq giants (Intel, Microsoft, Cisco) at less than 2 days of short interest.

If you really want to see a stock that is heavily shorted....take a look at Cree. It is less than 1/10th the size of Qualcomm, but has a greater absolute number of shares short.

I wish that more funds were short Qualcomm, it would create a natural pool of buyers. Unfortunately, the current stockprice has more to do with a lack of buying interest than some sort of targeting by shorts and hedge funds.
