Jeffrey-
Fantastic!- just what this thread needs is some insight from folks working at Accuson. There's a lot I and, I suspect, others on this thread would like to learn from you. We understand the constraints you would have to observe, but some other threads have benefitted greatly from employee participation. To cite just one example, "Cruiser" on the Bay Network thread for months described what he (or she) saw at Bay happening at while the stock was pummeled continuously by Wall Street. Some participants chided Cruiser for inaccurate predictions (which were merely early) about the turnaround at Bay, but those who heeded his advice eventually profitted.
Can you verify (or deny) my friend the ultrasound technologist's statement that Accuson has 3-D imaging available? I know of an academic research project that is attempting to "port" some military technology to commercial medical ultrasound use, but I have no direct knowledge of Accuson's products in 3-D. My friend claims, by the way, that 3-D would be a big clinical advance, in that less skill would be required on the part of the technologist and that the number of ambiguous scans would be reduced. Do you agree? My friend is unimpressed with many physician's ability to make or interpret sonograms, so that is another reason for why she believes 3-D would be a big advance. I would guess it requires "bodacious" computational power.
Well I'll try not to bombard you with too many questions (at least not yet :). I would like to express my gratitude for your willingness to post, and hope you will continue to do so.
Bye the way, at this time I have no financial stake in Accuson, but obviously I have an interest in learning more about the company and its competitive position in the industry.
