I live in a second floor apartment, too. Don't get me started on my downstairs neighbor. But I'll mention the bird feeding incident. Think I may have mentioned it before. I had a feeder hanging outside my bedroom window for several years. It's a violation of the condo rules to hang anything out like that, but the window is hidden behind a thick tree and I checked with all the immediate neighbors first to see if they objected. My downstairs neighbor had a tenant in her apartment at the time who didn't object. Our condo association tends to take a no-harm-no-foul approach to things so I figured I was OK. Like I said, I had it out there for years.
So, my downstairs neighbor complained not to me but "anonymously" to the condo association, which sent me a letter. I was feeding the birds hulled sunflower seeds so there'd be no hull debris below the feeder. Seems that she objected to the feeder because the sound of the occasional seed falling on her window sill was disturbing her.
This is the same neighbor who finally got me to give up fostering cats for the rescue organization because the sound of them running around disturbed her. A cat. On plush wall-to-wall carpeting on top of thick foam, mind you.
This is the same neighbor whose doorbell plays Camptown Races so loud I can hear it in my attic. And who is running a business out of her condo in violation of condo rules. Etc, etc. Like I said, don't get me started.
I would understand about bird droppings, though.
Bird feeder has been down for several years, now, but I still have the occasional bird come by looking for it. Sad. Not many finches anymore, though. Some disease or other about wiped them out a couple of years ago. |
