Matt, I'm not preventing Bob from proving himself. Prove away, Bob! The database and code are already in a form that can be manipulated easily. Just not by Bob. That's not a dig at Bob. There are lots of languages/systems I am equally unfamiliar with, including the two in question - GSP and Oracle. But unfamiliarity with a language is a poor reason for a large conversion effort. Moving a web site from a Unix platform to a Windows platform is particularly unadvisable, IMO. And I'm primarily a Windows developer! Anything I do with web sites, I do with Unix, despite my relative lack of familarity. I know it's going to cause me less trouble.
