On the first issue neither increasing social spending nor increasing "corporate welfare" is libertarian.
Sounds good to me. THE major failing of the Republican Party is the second. Unfortunately, they rarely miss an opportunity.

At this point, one could SWEAR the real point of the Iraq war was to provide an opportunity for US companies to "rebuild" Iraq, with the rebuilding financed by a combination of Iraqi oil revenue and the US taxpayer.
