I was simply going to pass on by on this post, John, letting your point be the last one in the exchange. However, I can't pass this one up. The problem is not with the CIA; but rather with the political leadership that was unhappy with the intelligence it was getting from the CIA. It didn't fit their agenda. So they found some intelligence which fit their agenda. Which now turns out to be wrong, at least as you and I type.

And if something turns up, I agree with Jacob, it will lack credibility unless it is confirmed by international institutions, certainly something other than the Bush and/or Blair administrations.
