BTW, the WMD issue is bogus as well. I just read D.Ray's post and he's assured Tench that poor Wolfowitz is getting a raw deal from the press. I almost started to sob but than I realized Wolfowitz gets paid the big bucks to put up with the undercutting ways of the media.
Assume for a moment that they didn't lie <<ggg>>, they sure embellished and misled congress, or at best, availed themselves of very shaky intelligence and made it fact in order to fit their war aims.
First, if you listen to the fear factor on FOX tonite, they worked very hard to make it a non issue. If Clinton had done something similar, they would have called the DC police and tried to get him arrested but with Bush, they're sure its all some big mistake. In fact, Europeans are more upset about it than we are, and Europe hasn't had to deal with any of the downside from the Iraqi war. Go figure!
I don't know whether the Amer. public is that enamored with Bush, or if 9/11 has some how broken their spirit but they act more and more like sheep on the way to the slaughter. It takes them forever to get what Bush is up to and then just as they do, he twists and turns and they get over it.
There's no question he's an idiot but he has very smart handlers. And apparently, they have made him into the teflon man. It would appear he's unstoppable.
A funny story........one of the UK newspapers is very pro American....I can't remember which one......in any case, one of the columnists for that paper has become rabidly anti American and his hate of Bush is so nearly out of control that he is thinking of quitting his job.
I can so relate to that guy......its hilarious!
