Sentencing guidelines for perjury do not distinguish the subject matter of the perjury, and should not. The crime is perjury, not "Perjury in a case where the president lied to the nation" vs. "Perjury in a murder trial".

That was not my point.....does a judge treat in the same way the president who's perjuring himself by lying about sex as the one who's perjuring himself by lying about the reasons for going to war. Most judges and juries will not see the two crimes as being of equal weight.
