IMO, he'd be better served to find a revenue model that works, than to add bells and whistles.
Nunamy business, so I won't belabor it, but I think Bob is spending a lot of unnecessary money (probably not his or at least not all his, though, so, hey, why not, right?) on consultants and equipment.
SI is just fine the way it is. It works. It's user's are happy with the way it works. Fix the things that got broken in transit (which the seller should take care of, IMO, but of course depends on the terms of the sale) and leave well enough alone.
Then find a way to make money. This is the hard part, as the previous owner apparently couldn't. Nor, I suspect, has iHub as of yet.
If you do find a path to profit, I doubt very much that it is going to be selling bells and whistles.
