Jon,

The shortcomings of the search engine pre-date the recent change in control. I wasn't referring to the current circumstance where the index has not been updated since the move. The lack of robustness (lack of operands, sliding window, etc.) has been an issue here for a long, long time. My sense from Bob's posts are that he needed more horsepower in order to improve on the search features and age depth while maintaining fast response times.

We used to have delimiters like #userid, #subjectid. At one time there was a beta search that included basic operands. With and without would be good, along with quoted strings. And date ranges.
