It's not the future of the nation, there's kids that still want to learn and parents that want to teach. Now the idea of lowering the test standards to where every kid can pass is stupid and only serves to make the board of education look good come voting on new bonds time. Our local school system just spent $63 million building a high school for 1,400 kids. When I went to school it was 30 kids and a teacher, now it's 30 kids, a teacher, 5 assistants and 36 computers. AND they don't want parents to educate their kids beyond what is taught. Schools are not about teaching now, they're about money and how to collect more of our money. OTOH kids going to these schools can also learn but they're not the one's catered too. The girl across the street graduated with straight A's all through school. Went to France to study humanities in French then on to Germany to study engineering in German. Finished up at the U of Illinois where she got her real learning. She wanted to learn and her parents helped.
