I got maced over the weekend. Had just witnessed an accident and was about to give my statement to a cop. I was sitting in the passenger seat of his cruiser, he gets in and sits down and somehow his mace can activated. I scrambled quick, but I got a flavor of what it would be like to get a full shot. Pungent stuff. It was a sobering start to the weekend. Going down the hill from my house toward the river, a car comes out of a bend in the road, crosses the yellow line and heads straight for me. I thought for a moment I would have to take evasive maneuvers to avoid a head-on, but he smacks the guard rail, clipping a bicyclist. I thought I was tough, but let me tell you, I couldn't handle being next to the young lady who was hurt. After I went and got a blanket I had to step away. Luckily a woman who is a chiropractor was tending to her and I wasn't needed. There were a couple other people there too. The woman who was hit was very fortunate, she was lucid and talking, but there were obvious injuries. The chiropractor was a real hero. We should all be grateful for people like her.
