tejek,

re:the fact that over 4 million people have died in the Congo alone during the past 5 years due to famine, war and gov't brutality

What's the UN stand on that problem?
Is France dealing with this issue?

re:Then, our humanitarian efforts were simply an afterthought, or an unexpected by product of the main goal. Let's stop with the Mother Theresa BS and call a spade a spade.

If humanitarian efforts are just an after thought I guess the UN's Oil for food program was just a pig in a dress?

But she sure looked fine to the French.

I'm not saying we're Mother Teresa, but when policy aligns with good deeds it's a good thing and it's a rare thing. It should happen more often, but we don't live in that world.

re:He did......that's when he destroyed those missiles because they were over the 94 kilo. limit. It didn't matter.....Bush wasn't buying it.

Having been caught with that he complied with the UN, were we supposed to catch him with everything before he would comply?

I thought the inspectors job was to verify the disposition of his WMD, not go find stuff.
