That is a valid question and I believe the answer may be tough to swallow. In extreme times, yes, I believe extreme measures are required. We are living in an age whereby a single human being can inflict untold amounts of damage, unlike anytime in human history. Can you imagine what American reaction would be if suicide bombings were to occur on the same scale here as they do in Israel? I believe our general reaction would be even more extreme that what Israel is doing..e.g., just look at Afganistan as an example.
