First of all, IBM was not "outed" by anyone. That transaction was reported as plain as can be by anyone who took the time to review the quarterly report. How it was accounted for was an industry standard used by lots of companies on a GAAP basis. I happen to believe it should be a one time gain but IBM sells assets every quarter and has been for years and no one complained. The facts were always there for dissecting.
I also think it is misleading to say they had to restate or lower earnings. The transactions had the same net effect to the bottom line, they were just identified differently.
But the original post was on your claims of fraud for revenue recognition. Any comments on that issue?
