Its not often spoken of, but it is my understanding that ONE of the reasons behind Bush trying to push through tax cuts often besides economic recovery is an attempt TO LIMIT expanding government spending programs. I remember Reagan saying when he was Governor of Calif. "Politicians are like Children, the more you give them the more they will spend, the ONLY way to control them is to CUT THEIR ALLOWANCE". I think its generally agreed by most economists that the USA taxes (fed'l and state) have just about reached the breaking point. ie anymore and soon a taxpayer revolt develops. jdn
