| Dennis, Geez, I almost never agree with Krugman, but he's right on here. I saw another source that claims that when Colin Powell saw the crap they were trying to get him to feed to the UN, he crumpled up the papers, threw them on the floor and said, "this is all bulls---!" I wonder what they did to make him give the speech? My guess is, as a career military man, when the CINC gives final orders, you march straight. We hung a lot of Germans for doing the same thing, but then, the orders they followed were one heck of a lot worse. Still, I always wonder how many of us would have stood up to an order from Hitler's SS when you know you'll be shot on the spot? I like to think I would, but, you never know til you've been there. |
