The anti-christ guarantees Israel's safety when they sign the "Peace Treaty" that signals the start of the seven year Great Tribulation period. How can that be unless he has great power. Is that super-natural power or military power? I think Christians have assumed it was super-natural power but that really is not how everything has played out so far. Everything appears to have a natural explanation. What if it is military power? The US is the only country that can make that kind of guarantee. Does that mean the anti-christ will gain control of the US? or has? It's been the USA that has always pushed the peace treaties in the middle east.
