I've recently seen Thomas on the Charlie Rose show and his nose had a decidedly umber cast at the time. Maybe he's getting a little courage. That's what it is going to take. Helen Thomas has become a voice in the wilderness. Most of the White House press corps are still willing sycophants and scribes for Karl Rove's mad schemes. But they all know that they are part of a vast conspiracy of deceit. They only need to know that they won't be fired for telling the truth, and maybe they will come around. ******* In Congress, remarkably we have a Republican, Senator John Warner scheduling hearings on WMD intel. This is a pretty interesting development. The Democrats, with a few exceptions seem to remain spineless. I'm disgusted with Tom Dashle's inept leadership right now. He's being a complete pantywaist. We need some real leadership. Bob Graham may be able to draw some of Bush's blood with his insistence on 9/11 information. Maybe Fritz Hollings will have the nerve to take on Bush. Somebody's got to replace Daschle. He's pathetic.
