SemiOT-Linear Analog Lines Up for Growth, Report Says Online staff -- Electronic News, 6/3/2003
The high-speed linear analog market, spurred by demand for products including interface line drivers, high-speed amplifiers and high-speed converters, is lined up for some noteworthy growth, according to market research firm Databeans Inc.
Databeans estimates global revenue of $1.4 billion for high-speed linear products, making up 15 percent of the total standard linear market. Revenue growth is advancing rapidly, which will result in a revenue share of 18 percent by 2008, the firm said. Combined, revenue growth for high-speed products is expected to outperform average annual growth for standard markets at 18 percent each year compared to 15 percent for the overall market.
Among the highest demanding markets will be communications. In 2002, Databeans estimates that high-speed linear products consumed in the communications market generated $692 million, or 49 percent of total revenue, pushed by broadband and Wi-Fi acceptance. At an annual growth rate of 21 percent each year, the high-speed linear market in the communications segment should reach $2.2 billion by 2008, the firm noted. |
