Mussolini did not advocate "pre- emptive security actions", he advocated territorial expansion at the expense of inferior nations. He did not advocate a close partnership between industry and government, he advocated totalitarian control over the economy, mobilized to national ends, even when left in private hands. He did not advocate "nationalism", but invented the concept of totalitarianism, that is, the control of society by the state in pursuit of glory.

Wilson supported the League of Nations, yes, which at that time meant to support the imperial powers in their civilizing mission to the rest of the world. But the main point is that Wilson wanted to use the diplomatic and military power of the United States to promote democracy, and so do the neocons.........
