You could always keep all your cash in pre 1982 pennies. Copper is at about $1665.08 a metric ton, a pre 1982 penny weighs 3.1 grams and is 95% copper and 5% zinc so about 2.94 grams copper. 1,000,000/2.94 gives you about 340,000 pennies to the metric ton. So $3,400 in cash (old pennies) is backed by $1665.08 in copper. Got pennies? Before you try this, don't forget to get yourself some deep pockets. <g>
