Hi LindyBill; Re: "Really? Been too depressed to read the polls, Carl? Here are the latest numbers from CBS polls. ... Now, 64 percent approve of the overall job he is doing as president. ..."

Look at the trend. At this point, his daddy was still in the 80s. His daddy lost his job despite the good ratings. So will he. Like you guys like to say, it's only "n weeks" into the occupation. But at this stage in the first Gulf War, our troops were coming home to ticker tape parades instead of getting shot up in ambushes in a place that they aren't wanted.

Re: "You can "Quagmire" the bumps in the road as we go settle things in Iraq, but your record on this subject is so bad that we could make a living betting the opposite of what you predict."

Uh, the only thing you have me on record about is that I didn't think the President was stupid enough to drag us into a land war in Asia without the benefit of an appropriate Asian land power to provide the body bag contents. I stated that it couldn't be done cheaply, and that an occupation of Iraq would need about 480,000 troops. So far I'm right on target, what the administration talking about a 50% increase already.

It's only 7 weeks and they're already incrementalizing, and claiming that things are going roses. Doesn't that remind you of 'Nam?
