"Opinion, preference and feeling are all you have"

Now you're getting it... :-)

Right and wrong are opinions. Many people think it was wrong for America to invade Iraq. Many people think it was right. You probably have an opinion on it, too.

People assess what is "right" or "wrong" through their minds and their hearts. Every culture and every individual will evaluate actions from a unique perspective. Some will simply swallow the opinions of a self interested religious cult or group...or any other type of group or ideology such as Communism.

Fortunately there are rational (and compassionate) people in society who take a philosophical perspective based on the idea that all life is interdependent and reflective of a greater whole. This leads to a regard for all life and a tendency to see what hurts self or other as "wrong", and what alleviates pain and encourages happiness as "right". Of course, the myriad consequences of actions are never entirely knowable or clear...
