But he's not what we invaded Iraq to get - we didn't ask for him to be handed over - he's no excuse, even to Perle. What's so confusing to you about this?

He's not? The rationale of fighting a war on terror is to not only kill the terrorists (or bring them to justice) but to also eliminate those governments which harbor and support them. And whether or not Saddam supported Al-Qaeda, it's fact that he supported terrorism and terrorist groups, monetarily, logistically, and educationally... All in addition to providing them a place to go when things were too hot for them elsewhere.

What's so confusing TO YOU about these facts?

And I'm sorry that things you can't explain are quickly relegated to the "I don't care about that" category.

But others, like myself, do care. And we are unwilling to overlook the kinds of fact you find inconvenient to your world view.

Nor do I find the evidence that he was "inactive" to be credible. Inactive would suggest living out his life outside of his organization.. no longer in charge of daily activities for hundreds of other members.

And long before Al-Qaeda, there were hijackings, car bombings, and other acts of terrorism that that claimed hundred of lives.

Al-Qaeda merely has taken terrorism to the next level. And now the rest of the terrorist community will be trying to "one up" them...

They have to.. because the essence of terrorism is to cause the world to focus on their particular agenda. To terrorize target governments into submitting to their demands.
