from a political POV, I have always felt that the best thing that bush could do would be to do whatever he could to hasten the bear market. The way it is now, I think that his timing is off in a big way. Sure the market is going up now. But if we do have a final selloff into autumn, nobody will remember this neato rally. Then again, if October is the bottom and the markets start going up in earnest into the elections it could work out....but sideways movement won't be good enough.
