By the way, I saw Harold Ford, a young Democratic Congressman from Tennessee, on Fox News this morning, and he pointed out that there was no disagreement among allied intelligence services that Saddam had WMDs, just on how dire the situation was. He also agreed that many assertions were based on what were reasonably taken as solid sources, like defectors with intimate knowledge of the programs, even if supporting documentation was thin. He said, quite reasonably, that it was too soon to make a lot out of our failure to find much, so far. In general, he did not think it should be exploited as an issue, and commended Bush on what was broadly, and obviously, a job well done. It was nice to see someone not take the low road........
