Ted, What do you think the tax cuts are all about?

It isn't about wealth redistribution. It's all about letting citizens decide what to do with their own money, instead of politicians who act like Robin Hood.

Are they just to get votes? Perhaps, but tax cuts have been a fundamental part of the GOP platform for decades now. It seems to be working, for even the Dems know that tax cuts win more votes than their traditional "tax-n-spend" philosophy.

I would say Gates is very much into redistributio....he gives tons of money away. He plans to leave very little to his children.

The key is that the donations are voluntary. The super-rich can afford to do that, plus it helps them get away from paying their normal percentage of taxes.

That's why in my last message, I put "redistribution" in quotes. Government is not a wealth redistribution center, or else the Gates family would be donating all they can to government. (Campaign contributions don't count, for they're just trying to keep the anti-trust monkeys off their backs.)

You know there are other approaches to life that really do work.

The best way for me to support society is on a grassroots level. High-level government bureaucracy has its place, but once it takes on bloated, self-sustaining characteristics, that's when it's time to reduce it.
