<<Some miracle drugs emerge from eureka moments, but more often a new compound results from years of meticulous, plodding work championed by a relentless true believer. And so it is for a drug approved last month to treat a deadly cancer of the blood known as multiple myeloma.>>

I am one who believes in deep, broad, basic science. Without it there is no new breaktrue drugs. Unless you are lucky. And, MLNM was lucky with Velcade.

Now they are restructuring to generate profitability, down the road. This is OK, but what will prevail and what not is not clear to me? AMGN didn't done anything for 10 years, but was extremely lucky with two drugs. They changed philosophy last year. DNA was silent and busy for years, building foundation on its own resource and scraping candidates of interest. What business model is Levin building? Or MLNM is for sale, down the road?
