I do want you to understand that I have read a lot of novels, even post- War novels, but I have tended to stay on the classics course: Henry Fielding, Jane Austen, Thackeray, Dickens, Dostoyevsky, Stendahl, Melville, Henry James, that sort of thing. I have read a lot of Saul Bellow, Kurt Vonnegut, E.L. Doctorow, C.S. Lewis; some Mailer, Vidal, and Updike; and even some Asimov, Zelazny, and one of Stephen King's books......... |
