Ashley Emerson Joins 21st Century's IWI/MMC
June 06, 2003 07:30:00 AM ET

FORT WORTH, Texas--(BUSINESS WIRE)--June 6, 2003--Ashley Emerson, widely-renowned innovator, inventor and manufacturing expert in matters related to the shooting industry, particularly relating to design and innovation of gun sights, has joined 21st Century's TFCT wholly owned subsidiaries, Innovative Weaponry, Inc (IWI) and Miniature Machine Corporation (MMC) as manager and head of research and development, effect April, 2003.

Mr. Emerson's broad experience has earned him the appellation "Sight Guy" in the industry. Responsible for such innovations as the MMC Adjustable Combat Sight Line for pistols and shotguns (now sold by MMC) and the Ashley Express and Aperture Sights, Mr. Ashley's designs now account for more than 400 part numbers in the famous Brownell catalogue.

Ashley's formal education in Criminal Justice and Industrial Technology provided him with a foundation which he utilized to build vast hands-on experience in law enforcement, firearms training schools, hunting from Alaska to South Africa. His experience is not limited to the world of firearms-related activities. Mr. Emerson has worked on projects related to such sophisticated enterprises as the Super Conducting Super Collider. He has special interest and experience in setting up gun sight manufacturing systems and other mechanisms from an efficient machinist/inventor's point of view. The result is a rare combination of innovation blended with manufacturing and sales practicality.

Arland D. Dunn, President and CEO of 21st Century Technologies stated that, "The addition of Ashley Emerson to IWI and MMC will permit us to create products and increase manufacturing efficiency that will enhance our efforts to become the dominant manufacturer of low-light and adjustable precision gun sights. In short order we expect to see improvements in every area of design technology and manufacturing efficiency that will lead to increased sales and profitability. We all extend to Ashley a 'welcome aboard.'"

IWI manufactures the leading line of low-light and no-light gun sights, utilizing tritium (a radioactive isotope of hydrogen) to produce phosphorous-illuminated open gun sights under the brand name, "P-T Night Sights." The sights are suitable for installation on a wide variety of firearms. MMC manufactures precision-machined adjustable gun sights, which may have added to them the low-light and no-light features of the fixed-sight IWI. MMC precision adjustable gun sights are favorites among serious sportsmen and hobbyists. Mr. Emerson's duties include overseeing both gun sight product lines.
