Time will tell. The Dept of Homeland Security right now is working on having every American put into one electronic biometric identification system. Much worse for civil liberties than even the much opposed national id card. Imagine a world where you just have to be scanned to know who you are. The government already knows everything about you. It'll all be linked to your biometric scan. And then instead of an ATM card you'll just scan your palm or eye at the bank, grocery store, everywhere. And then there will eventually be no cash anymore. The more the government has these controls the more they control us and society. This may not matter much to you but it does to me.
