Were you using different text editors on the development and production servers?

Did you send them at text or binary? Is it possible that you used a different FTP setting for the two uploads?

Did you compare the files with a dif program? Of course, that implies that you can get the files from point B back to point A uncorrupted to do the comparison.

If the OSs are the same (Unix/Unix, don't care about different versions or vendors) then there should never be a reason to use "text" - just send everything as binary.

If you edited on a PC, you need to use "text".
