VXN monthly in the larger time frame points to a bullish engulfing for now at the lower bollinger band. If this sticks by end of month, I expect then at least a touch of the upper bollinger band by the autumn. This now would equate to 60 on the VXN. You can see the cyclical nature of this series -- what comes down goes up and vice versa. It is just market nature in action. You can see the prior bullish engulfing in June 1998 at the lower bollinger band which lead to the October bottom.
