Cow,

I don't know if you remember the help you gave with a virus problem about a month ago, but here is the strange resolution to my problem.

My PC caught some virus, so I downloaded and installed McAfee Pro, which found and deleted the virus. But the PC was a mess, couldn't run more than one program at a time, blue screen of death several times a day, slow as a snail. The only reason I haven't replaced it is I've been busy and the hassle of moving all the files.

Anyway, I noticed that when I disabled the anit-virus software, the machine ran significantly better, but the software would reload automatically after an hour. So I uninstalled McAfee, and guess what, now the PC runs GREAT, better than it did before the virus incident!

Sort of ironic that the cure was the disease. A person with a higher IQ than I might have made a connection earlier. The downside is that I don't have virus protection at the moment.
